He was born in Carthage, Miss. and was ordained to the Methodist ministry in 1924. He had served the following charges: Scotland Neck; Springs; Central Church, Raleigh; Jarvis Memorial Church, Greenville; Trinity Church, Durham; superintendent of the New Bern District; First Methodist Church, Rocky Mount; SUperintendent of the New Bern District; First Methodist Rocky Mount; superintendent of the Wilmington District; superintendent of the Durham District; and the First Methodist Church, Siler City. Following his retirement in 1958, he served for seven months as superintendent of the Burlington District. For several years, he was visiting lecturer in the Divinity School of Duke University.

William Clifton Perry, 56, dean of the Louisburg physicians, who died Wednesday, were held Friday at graveside in Oakwood Cemetery by the Rev. Frank E. Pulley, pastor of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, of which he was a member. Dr.

Perry began his general practice of medicine in Louisburg in 1935 and was the first chief of staff of Franklin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Louisburg, and graduated from Wake Forest College and received his medical degree from Emory University, Atlanta, Ga. He was director of public health for Franklin County until declining health forced his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Button Perry; two sons, William C.
