Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, St. Charles. Melvin was an Eagle Scout and went on to be a scout leader. He was a veteran, and served with the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Melvin had worked as a land surveyor up until his death.

and he also taught at the College of DuPage. He was a member of SI. Thomas Moore Catholic Church of Elgin. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post and of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association. Melvin also pioneered the Pingree Grove ENT Unit.

He is survived by his children. it was al Fast that Roy met his future bride. Phyllis Jean Deiters. Roy and lean were married on Nov. 18, 1930 and spent the next 30 years in the Aurora area, primarily living at their Jericho Road he raising their five suns. Any was quite the handyman and had an aptitude for many trades but made his living for 35 grans as an over the read unack driver.

While his job kept him away from home, there was little doubt his heart was with Jean and his five Roy enjoyed teaching the boys how 10 fix cars. how to mow lawns how to keep a garage and tools in order and the value of taking care of valued pas. sessions. After the boys were taught a task. Roy expected nothing les than the best job one could produce.

Upon Roy and Jean spent the winter months each year living at their second home in Texas, Roy was active: in many community affairs and was honored as Rockport's Man of the Year fin 2001. also loved attending the events and gates of his beloved grandchildren with his wife by his side. Rov will he remembered as a man who loved life. loved to talk about most everyhing and used in help his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years.
