D’Angelo Russell Under 2.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell struggled in last year’s matchup against the Nuggets, averaging 6.3 points and 3.5 assists per game while hitting two 3-pointers in four contests.

He might produce better results than that, but this is still a matchup that bothers him due to Denver’s length and switching ability.

Russell hasn’t hit more than two 3-pointers in each of his last seven meetings against the Nuggets. I’m comfortable betting the +122 price at FanDuel on that trend, especially when most of ourbest sports betting appsoffer +105 odds for the same ticket.

There is value on a points prop of 9.5 for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, but I prefer needing him to hit just two 3-pointers against his former team. It also doesn’t hurt that Pinnacle charges 30 cents more for the Nuggets guard to hit multiple triples.

KCP has cleared this mark in five straight games against the Lakers and seven of his previous nine such matchups.

With Jamal Murray drawing the best defensive assignment in the backcourt, I expect Caldwell-Pope to have an advantageous matchup in this series. Such is life when trying to defend the Nuggets.

Anthony Davis Under 0.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

For the Lakers to have a chance, Anthony Davis has to be a bigger offensive threat than his 20-point effort against the New Orleans Pelicans in the Play-In Tournament. But that doesn’t mean he should take a 3-pointer after not attempting one on Tuesday.

Davis still hasn’t succeeded with his jumper in the team’s new five-out offense. He hit a triple in 29% of regular-season games and only three of his previous 10 matchups against the Nuggets.
