I want to know how many burp cloths, bibs, washcloths, towels, crib sheets, and blankets are recommended by experienced moms. Please share!!

@Wehom*om,

Hmmm well for burb cloths I had a lot because I used them for spit up, wiping my sons mouth when there was a little milk and when he started to drool I used them for that too. Bibs I didn't use until my sons started eating baby food. Crib sheets I had three so I could always have one available. Blankets I got a lot for my shower but really only ended up using my favorite two. Swaddling blankets I basically only used two of those too. Hope that helped a little :)

@Wehom*om,

As soon as they start eating babyfood, you really start going through bibs more. I do laundry once a week, so I'd say 14 bibs should be more than enough. I had around 6 burp cloths which was plenty. 4 sheets was more than enough, though I wish I had two bed waterproof liners, not just one, so this time I have two. Wash cloths aren't a huge deal, you really only need a couple, as well as towels.

@Wehom*om,

Towels & wash cloths - only a couple

Sheets - 4Â

Blankets - too many LOL I only used a couple of the many I got at my shower (I recommend 2 heavy & 2 light as well as a bigger one for on the floor) I also had swaddle blankets (the velcro kind they were amazing and I had 2 in each size, this time I have 3 small & 2 bigger ones.

Burp cloths/spit rags - MANY and I used them!! I used them from burping to spit up wiping, drool cleaning, I used them OFTEN, and if your LO ends up being a spitty kid (some just are no matter what) you'll go through them!

Bibs - didn't use them until DS started solids, I did his laundry twice a week and had about 15-20 bibs some all cloth & some plastic (plastic best for food!!!), when he started teething and was drooling like crazy I had him in bibs whenever he was awake so it became necessary to have a lot of bibs!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice. This is what I have but I'm always worried I won't have enough stuff to keep up with all the baby fluids.

I have
18 burp cloths (12 work as bibs too)
Additional 10 drool bibs and 2 plastic ones for food time
8 thin receiving blanks
2 knit blanets
5 wearable blankets (small and medium)
6 washcloths (plus an additional 20 I will be using as cloth wipes)
2 hooded towels + 1 hooded robe (I know the robe is not necessary but I love my bath robe!!!!)
3 sheets
3 waterproof mattress pads

I was thinking of buying another dozen of cloth diaper prefolds to use as burp rags and also in diapers. But I don't know if I'm overdoing the burp rags. I guess I can always order more later!!!

@Wehom*om,

sounds like you have more than enough to me. Burp clothes will more or less depend on how much your lil one will spit up my ds very rarely spit up and I lived with 6 and that was more than enough but yet some go through a lot in one day. Id wait to buy more until you know if you need them.
