I wanted to open up a discussion on some recent concerns regarding the work environment, especially around how remote work is being managed. There seems to be a growing disconnect between the company's expectations and employees' needs when it comes to flexible work-from-home arrangements.Several of us have experienced pressure to return to the office and adhere to rigid, fixed schedules, which seems to ignore the benefits that flexible work arrangements can offer. This not only impacts our work-life balance but is also starting to create an environment that feels less supportive and more toxic. It's worth noting that this kind of culture can lead to a negative perception of the company, both internally and externally. Talented individuals may feel discouraged from joining or staying in a workplace where flexibility is seen as a problem rather than a solution. Before accepting these changes as the norm, I believe it’s essential that we have an open conversation. Are these demands truly beneficial for the company? Could there be a more balanced approach that acknowledges the needs of the business without compromising the well-being of the employees?Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.#ToxicWorkplace #EmployeeWellbeing #CorporateCulture

The topic of work-life balance is everywhere we turn. It's a hot topic and it's dominated discussions for a while. Yet, I believe it's time for a paradigm shift.1️⃣ Market Trends indicate a shift in compensation trends, with many organisations recognising remote work as a viable long-term option. With more emphasis on performance metrics over physical presence.2️⃣ Employee preferences across countless surveys show us a growing preference for flexible working. The findings underscore a need to rethink compensation models that still penalise remote workers.3️⃣Productivity Metrics from remote work experiments demonstrate remote workers exhibit comparable or even higher levels of productivity, challenging the notion that remote work inherently warrants lower compensation. If employers genuinely prioritise equality, fairness, and performance, it's time to embrace a holistic approach to working. I believe customising the employee experience produces the best results for both parties and this includes remuneration and work settings. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

More than 70% of workers say they'd stick around at a job if they could work flexibly. That means options like remote work or flexible hours. When companies offer these choices, it helps employees manage work and life better, making them happier and more productive. It also shows that the company cares about its employees' well-being and wants to create a positive work environment.Follow For More CIO Look Leaders#FlexibleWorkCulture #WorkLifeBalance #RemoteWorkOptions #FlexibleHours #EmployeeWellbeing #ProductiveWorkplace #HappyEmployees

Flexibility is no longer a perk, it's a necessity. According to a recent study, 76% of employees said they would quit if their company eliminated flexible work policies. This is because the benefits of flexibility are clear: no wasted time commuting, more control over your schedule, and better work-life balance. After experiencing this, employees don't want to go back to the old way of rigid 9-to-5 office-based work. For many, giving up flexibility is a deal-breaker. 🔑 The key is to focus on results, not on the location or hours an employee works. Are they getting their work done? Are they productive? Are they happy and healthy? If the answer is yes, then who cares if they are remote, hybrid or in-office. That is real flexibility. Employers who prioritize flexibility will attract and retain top talent, leading to a more engaged and productive workforce. It's time to give your employees the choice they deserve. #flexibleworking #flexibility #remote #hybrid #worklifebalance #recruiterlife #hrcommunity #changemakers #leadership

❓Is flexible work more productive? That’s the wrong question. 👇❗️Here is one undeniable fact that I talk about in my upcoming book "NSFW" 💡The vast majority of employees want some kind of flexible work arrangement, so the real question is: Why does Corporate America refuse to accommodate them?💡McKinsey’s 2022 American Opportunity Survey revealed that nearly 90% of employees will take the opportunity for flexible work arrangements if they are offered. 💡That means it's not just slackers who want it. Top employees do, too. And more female employees prefer it because they have more caregiver responsibilities at home. Sometimes the choice for women is remote work or no work at all. 💡Any company who actually cares about their employees should be asking why and figuring out how they can accommodate them, instead of gaslighting and punishing them. 💡My book "NSFW: A good manager’s guide to creating better-feeling work in a toxic culture" is out this fall! I cover everything that’s wrong in Corporate America and provide a plan for how we can fix it. Sign up for my newsletter (link in comments) to stay up to date.

I agree! My only question to this would be how would you vision this in workplaces that may not have the means or ability to work 100% remote. For example, how would you vision promoting flexibility to retail or restaurant workers? How about industries that have required in person staffing levels to meet on a daily basis? ( e.g. healthcare workers, childcare workers) I have my thoughts and I know what has worked in the past for these industries. Again, I see the importance around offering more flexibility. However, where is the balance in industries that are not your typically desk job setting.

Flexible work arrangements are no longer just a perk - they're a necessity. Do you agree? In our recent Working Policy Report (https://lnkd.in/esGwsrZM) we highlight the value employees place on having choice in their working location and times, and although the ability to be able to offer flexibility will depend on the role, employers must factor this in when looking to attract and retain their best talent. There is substantial evidence that offering flexibility has a direct and positive impact on employee well-being, mental health, and even productivity. The shift toward remote and hybrid working practices, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, isn't going away anytime soon, and companies that want to succeed need to look at strategies and policies to offer the flexibility that employees desire without compromising on their achieving their long-term objectives. What does flexible working offer for employees and employers?👉Better Work-Life Balance: Flexible hours reduce stress and prevent burnout👉Mental Health Boost: Remote work and flexible schedules promote healthier lifestyles👉Increased Autonomy: Employees feel trusted and valued, enhancing job satisfaction👉Higher Productivity: Focus improves, leading to better quality work👉Attracting Talent: Flexible policies draw and retain top talent from a wider pool of candidates👉Reduced Absenteeism: Flexibility helps manage personal commitments efficiently👉Cost Savings: Both employees and employers save on costsWhat are your thoughts on flexible working? #FlexibleWork #EmployeeWellbeing #Recruitment #WorkLifeBalance #RemoteWork

How can you maintain flexibility while fostering strong team dynamics? Consider implementing "core hours" to give employees both structure and freedom. Flexibility isn’t just about location; it’s about meeting your team where they are.#FlexibleWorking #HybridWork #TalentManagement https://lnkd.in/gWhs5QCu
